Individual Psychotherapy
Therapeutic Approaches:
My theoretical approach is primarily person-centered/humanistic though I also draw on psychoanalytic, attachment, and family systems theories and trauma-informed care.
Therapeutic Style:
I pride myself on being warm, down-to-earth, and client-driven. I believe that clients are the experts on themselves and their lives. We will work together to help you reach your own goals for yourself. I do not give advice or hold opinions about what you “should” do, how, or when.
Instead, we will explore aspects of your experience such as ambivalence, internal conflicts, avoidance, and both internal and external sources of pressure, expectations, and norms that may be affecting your mood, thoughts, behaviors, decision-making, relationships, and quality of life.
Goals:
My goal as a therapist is to provide you with the clinical competence, curiosity, and safety to explore, reflect, process, and problem-solve at your own pace. I hope that you will come to feel deeply known, accepted, and supported in our relationship, as well as stimulated, challenged, and affirmed in your ability to grow and change.
